The material on the three CDs is the most moving, exciting and intensely engaging of all such material that I think I've encountered since I first discovered the offerings of Bishop some twelve years ago. I think that the main factor which so makes this work stand out is the skillful use of elements as tools to tell the story. The visual presentation is a skillful mixture of heavily-stylized (looks like a computer rendering, looks like a comic book, shows the artifacts of a familiar story-telling medium) through fairly-realistic, where each rendering style is used to best advantage in creating its piece of the overall effect (and the development of the effect) in each scene. The story line is really simple, and the plot development is compelling in ways that get to the heart of human motivations and primal, visceral emotions and responses. There's a "well-cast" set of characters, and they play off of each other well to build the intensity and provide the working chemistry that supports and propels the unfolding of the story. And the story-telling - it's a good unfolding of the story. It's a good selection of the scenes (and their order) to use to unfold the story - and the events, surroundings, accessories to highlight so as to drag the reader right in and never let us up for air. You've clearly got your rendering tools well in hand, you've pre-created the world and its inhabitants that you're using to house the story you're telling, and you have a good handle on the story it is you want to tell, and the effect you want its telling to have on the reader. Body postures, facial expressions, appearances of objects, arrangements of people and objects into scenes all work together really well to portray in a credibly compelling manner the experiences being portrayed. Even the stylized narrative boxes and the dialog (including the lots of onomatopoetic "words" used to express sounds made by devices or by people overwhelmed in a variety of ways) very much build and enhance the story-telling effect, rather than distracting (or detracting) from it. Given the intensity of the material on the CDs, I can see why you might not want to display too much of it on web pages available to an unselected audience. I found its intensity, and the level of involvement and excitement that such intensity can foster, to have a lot of WOW!!! factor. I, for one, am interested in being a paying customer for more such material from you. Of course, if you wouldn't mind offering some samples of other work you may be offering for sale, I would very much enjoy having an opportunity to peruse and enjoy such samples. What has impressed me very favorably in the purchase of these CDs is the high level of motivation to give the customer what they want, including the proactive solicitation of customer response to know better what customers do want, and the timely follow-through on delivery/fulfilment efforts. I am simply amazed that I placed an order on Thursday night, and that I received the material from the three CDs that I ordered by the next morning. The samples of the CD materials, while few, were really representative of what is received when the purchase is made. It was in no way the case that the samples represented the few really good renderings in an otherwise disappointing offering. Quite the contrary, the cumulative effect of all of the CD materials far surpassed what a few samples could convey, yet in ways that would be expected based on the samples. That was a fine job you did selecting the samples to use in the store pages describing each CD. Steve B. Philadelphia, PA |

Bound Justice sucks! No really. It sucks, it fucks, it whips and zaps Ouch!! Bound Justice explores just about every depraved BDSM fantasy you'd dream of seeing. There are two very sexy uppity heroines who find their match in a very sadistic villain and villainess. After the two wicked villains are done there's no doubt that an attitude change has been coerced! But wait! There's tons of bonus material. Midnite's not satisfied to leave you drained from the extensive Bound Justice series, he also adds tons of bonus material! A true master of erotic storytelling, Midnite takes you on a depraved adventure that will have you yearning for more. I've come to realize how lucky I was to be involved in projects with Midnite. He pissed me off a lot because he rarely accepted mediocre content which pushed me to improve always...he always pushes others to meet their potential. He also freely gave his advice and feedback...years of experience of trial and error...he tried to mentor us newbies how to get around the foils. Only now, years later, do I realize how much I learned from him. Little suggestions here and there of how to improve a piece of work...how to approach a project. Now I use his techniques daily in my own work. Had I never encountered Midnite I'd probably never have grasped all the nuances of the 3d/2d craft I do now. Still to this day, his knowledge of the web graphics and animation befuddles me. |

Midnite is a guy who helped shepherd a whole slew of creators into this crazy CG world of comix! For years MIDNITE was the backbone of ACTION BABE CENTRAL! He created half a dozen great websites and taught FINISTER FOUL, myself, SKYLER MYSTWOOD, KONRAM, FRITZ, JOE KURZ, and a host of others how to push the boundaries of storytelling. He did all this without ego and bullying... he always made it easy to learn and he always did it with a wry sense of humor. MIDNITE taught me the most important lesson I have learned in running a website. "Be open to new things ! Even if you don't understand everything that a creator is doing, encourage them...help them complete their projects...have faith in them !" That's a really big truth folks. That's why I joined Agent D and JPEGER when HIP was just getting off the ground. Hipcomix has remained an incredible mix of artistic styles, themes, fetishes, and storytelling. There is really nothing else on the web quite like it. MIDNITE also taught me the importance of keeping to a schedule with our updates, and here at Hipcomix, we publish a lot of material on a pretty regular schedule. We strive to work with creators to get their best work out to you on a regular, reliable schedule. Hipcomix has been successful because of this 'open door' editorial policy, and because of it, we've been able to spin off some special interest sites, like MIND CONTROL COMIX.COM. MIDNITE (like Mr. X., Dano & Nightwing 316) is one of the founding fathers of this genre and we've been proud to feature his material at HIP! |
